Harwich International Port - Industrial Action Suspended

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2010 – HARWICH INTERNATIONAL PORT

INDUSTRIAL  ACTION SUSPENDED

An improved offer has been negotiated with the union and the General Grades Committee having taken note of the view of your representative believe that the offer has improved and we are therefore going to be holding an urgent referendum with a recommendation that you accept the revised offer. However should you reject this,  the ballot that has already been held will still be valid as we have agreed a 28 day extension with the company.

Therefore all strike action and action short of a strike due to commence this Thursday has been suspended and you are instructed to work normally.

For ease of reference the revised offer is printed below and I shall write to you again enclosing a voting paper in the very near future.
 
• An increase of 2.25% on all pay (Basic, roster, variability and overtime rates), effective from 1st May.

• A £200.00, one off payment.

• A continuation of the ‘roster over-payment’ payment until 31st August 2010.

• An increase in the ‘dark hours’ roster premium by 30 minutes, this to commence from 1st September 2010.  This will mean that 30% enhancement payable between 20.00-06.30.

• An increase in the ‘dark hours’ roster premium by 30 minutes, this to commence from 1st January 2011.  This will mean that 30% enhancement payable between 20.00-07.00.

• Increase the eight (8) hour variability payment to £10.00 per shift – 2010 rate.

• A new Sunday overtime rate of £15.63 per hour for 2010.

• A new 100% enhanced rate of pay for those working on Christmas Day, which is an improvement of 50%.

• Reinstatement of the Company EBITDA bonus scheme.
