Dear colleague,

Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2012 – First Devon & Cornwall

Referring to our previous correspondence dated 5^th November 2012, I write again to update on the latest developments. You will recall that the previous industrial action that should have taken place on 8^th November 2012 was suspended to allow for a consultation of you and your colleagues on the revised offer from the company.

The overwhelming consensus is to reject this offer on the grounds that the company are refusing to pay the back pay. The company have deliberately dragged out the negotiations in order to dilute the first year of the offer by not including back pay.

The matter has been considered again by your union’s Executive Committee and they have instructed that members take the following strike action:-

Members are instructed NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between:-

• 00:01 hours and 23:59 hours on Thursday 15^th November 2012.

I strongly urge you and your colleagues to stand firm together and support this action with the same overwhelming solidarity shown in your recent ballot result and the previous strike action. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your continuing determination to fight for a fair pay increase and real improvements to your terms and conditions
