Benefits

Accident benefit
Accident benefit of £32.30 per week for up to 26 weeks is payable if the member is injured in the course of employment, or travelling to or from work. Payable at the end of incapacity, or after 26 weeks, whichever is the sooner. No claim shall be entertained unless a report of the circumstances of the case is given to your Branch Secretary within six months of the date of the accident. Click here for application form

Death benefit
Death benefit of £600 is payable to the nearest relative or legal representative if death occurs through any cause prior to retirement. Click here for application form

Orphan benefit
Orphan benefit of £12 per week per child up to 16 years of age and £12.75 per week per child continuing to receive full-time education up to 22 years of age, payable on member's death. Click here for application form. Should the child be over 16 years of age and still in full-time education then please also complete this additional form.

Retirement
On retirement at normal age, or earlier if permanently incapacitated due to ill health or retired under redundancy and resettlement arrangements when over 55 years of age, benefit calculated at the rate of £3 for each completed year's membership between 1 January 1965 and 31 August 2003 (and completed years' membership of the Disablement Fund prior to 1965), and at £5 for each completed year of membership after 1 September 2003. Permanent downgrading or demotion
£300 on permanent downgrading or demotion due to personal accident, sickness or physical defect. Click here for application form

Fines Pool
If you drive a company vehicle as part of your job then you can join the RMT fines pool for £5. The fines pool will reimburse members for any speeding fines, related court costs and lost time to attend court hearing. Click here for application form
