Rail Against Privatisation

Renationalisation of rail is an immensely popular demand, backed by a huge public majority and the trade union movement.

RMT believes the time has come to put the campaign to reverse the Tory privatisation of Britain's rail network at the top of the political agenda.

RMT launched Rail against Privatisation (RAP) during the 2005 General Election with a national march which began in Glasgow and culminated with a London rally two weeks later. Marchers took part in public meetings and events the length and breadth of the country.

The union continues to campaign vigorously on the issue and commissioned the Catalyst think-tank to produce the following reports on a return to public ownership.
