Defend the Railways Pension Scheme

RMT has warned of strike action after an attempt by Network Rail to undermine the Railways Pensions Commission before its findings have been discussed.

The industry-wide commission was set up following a massive 76.46 per cent vote by RMT members for strike action to defend the Railways Pension Scheme in June 2006. Its final report was published early in 2008 but Network Rail responded with its own scheme without discussing the matter with the unions.
