RMT is fighting Network Rail plans to slash 1,500 safety-critical maintenance jobs. Members returned a huge majority (89 per cent) for strike action in a ballot on March 11. The union is determined to stop Network Rail's reckless gamble with rail safety which risks another Hatfield, Potters Bar or Grayrigg train crash.
