European Parliament's Transport Committee Recast Of The First Railway Package

In December the European Parliament’s Transport Committee is going to vote on the Recast of the 1st Railway Package.

The Recast 1^st Railway Package aims to permanently separate wheel from steel and moves beyond simple separation of accounts. It is designed to pave the way for the 4^th Rail Package on liberalising domestic passenger services and further privatisation of the railways in Europe. This means that there would be an even stronger body of EU legislation preventing the renationalisation of Britain’s railway.
