Staff on historic Settle/Carlisle rail line to strike again
Staff employed by the Settle and Carlisle Railway Development Company - providing at-seat catering on Northern Rail services between Carlisle and Settle - are to take strike action again on Thursday this week – 29th January - in a continuing row over compulsory redundancies. The action follows two rock-solid 24 hour strikes in December and earlier this month which attracted wide ranging support and excellent media coverage for the RMT campaign.
RMT taxi drivers hit back at insulting comments
RMT London Taxi Drivers today registered their dismay at comments made by Sir Peter Hendy regarding the licensed taxi trade that it is 'not the job of TFL to protect the taxi trade, but the public'.
