Dear Collegues

ILM Womens Certificate in Leadership and Management (Level 5)

To celebrate 100 years of women in our union RMT Learning have organised a Women’s Leadership and Management course to begin in January 2016.  The course is aimed at women members who want to develop their skills and progress within the workplace.

The course will be held over 16 months and will involve 4 residential weekends at the Bob Crow Education Centre, Doncaster:

Weekend 1          Becoming an Effective Leader                                                   15th - 17th January 2016
Weekend 2          Understanding Organisational Culture and Ethics                13th - 15th May 2016
Weekend 3          Knowledge and Information Sharing                                       14th - 16th October 2016
Weekend 4          Managing Stress and Conflict in an Organisation                  13th - 15th January 2017

There will be a cost for the course, and the union has negotiated a reduced rate of £290 for the entire qualification.  Support is available to help source funding from bursary schemes and workplace learning funds to help cover course fees and other associated costs.  Please ask your ULR or contact Learning Organiser Paul Shaw for details (contact info below).

The course will start at 6pm on the Friday evening and run through until 1pm on the Sunday. The union is supporting the course by providing all meals and accommodation at the Bob Crow Education Centre for the weekend sessions.

Childcare can also be provided by the union, please state on the application form attached if you require childcare.

No previous qualifications are required to attend the course and it is open to all women members of the RMT.  There will be a requirement to complete course work outside of the weekend sessions, and support will be available to help with essay writing.

There will be maximum of 14 places available on the course, with allocation on a first-come-first-served basis.  Applications are now being sought, and are available online at www.rmt.org.uk/education or by contacting Lynne Heath at l.heath@rmt.org.uk with a closing date of 12 o’clock, Friday 11th December 2015.
