Regional & Head Office Staff Training.
A training opportunity for Regional and Head Office staff to develop knowledge and practical skills relating to their job roles has been developed, this matter has been discussed with your Representatives who are supportive of these new courses. RMT Learning has been working with TSP Learn, a national provider who is able to offer Government funded Workplace Diplomas, in the form of Adult Apprenticeships. The ‘apprenticeship’ is a work based training programme, consisting of on-the-job learning within a structured qualification framework made up of a Diploma and Functional Skills.
On a course participants will:
• Gain recognised, accredited UK qualifications that earn learning achievement credits;
• be assigned their own personal tutor, receive training on site and be assessed at work;
• plan monthly activities with a tutor to include training workshops based on their job;
• have 12 monthly tutorial sessions; and
• be able to work towards Function Skills Certificates in English, maths and ICT.
Course content is based on specific tasks relating to the participant’s job role and tailored to individual needs. Examples of the type of courses on offer are:
IT User Skills - Level 2
Suitable for those who are using IT within their role. The course covers understanding the potential of IT, developing effectiveness using IT and internet safety. There are a wide range of optional units that cover subjects including: using email, word processors, spreadsheets, presentation software and specialist software.
Business & Administration – Level 2 & Level 3
Administration covers roles that involve organising people and resources. This course will focus on developing skills in the participant’s administrative support area and has a wide selection of units to fit in with a particular area of need. The advanced level course is designed for employees who work at a higher level, e.g. identifying opportunities to improve and developing administration systems.
Advanced Leadership & Management – Level 3 & Level 4
The level 3 management course will develop skills that include planning, allocating and monitoring the work of a team, supporting team members, managing conflict, resolving problems, project management, agreeing budgets and managing customer service and is relevant to anyone who has a leadership role as part of their work. The level 4 course builds on these foundations, and develops the technical skills that are required to lead effectively.
RMT Learning and TSP Learn will be running a series of on-site information days where staff can find out more about the training and sign up for a course. A representative from the project team or the provider will be contacting regional offices over the next few weeks to arrange a visit.
