DISPUTE WITH KEOLIS/AMEY DOCKLANDS (K.A.D.)

21 January 2015

RMT

Strike Action

Our Ref: DLR/15/10

21st January 2015

Dear Colleagues,

DISPUTE WITH KEOLIS/AMEY DOCKLANDS (K.A.D.)

Following the magnificent ballot result in favour of taking industrial action, your General Grades Committee has considered this matter and having consulted with your Branch and Lead Officer, has taken the decision to instruct all Docklands Light Railway members NOT TO BOOK ON FOR SHIFTS THAT COMMENCE BETWEEN:-

•    04:00 hours on Wednesday 28th January 2015 until 03:59 hours on Friday 30th January 2015.

Following the feedback from well-attended Branch meetings and the ballot result, the Company should be under no illusions about your determination to fight against detrimental changes to your terms and conditions. As you are all aware, these include secondments without members’ consent or agreement, new and inferior policies on Maternity & Paternity leave, longer waiting period for entitlement to full sick pay and a failure by the Company to deal with a list of outstanding health & safety issues as well as undermining the efforts of your RMT H&S Rep.

I urge you all to stand together and support this strike action to continue the demonstration of unity and solidarity shown by all members so far. As always, we remain available for talks with the Company to resolve this dispute and I will keep you informed of all further developments.

STAND FIRM TOGETHER & SUPPORT THE ACTION
SUPPORT YOUR UNION

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
