DISMISSAL, B. MOLONEY – CROSS COUNTRY TRAINS

Our Ref: BR2/4/1

24th August 2018

Dear Colleague,

DISMISSAL, B. MOLONEY – CROSS COUNTRY TRAINS

It has been brought to the Union’s attention the appalling treatment and dismissal of our Brother Barry Moloney. Management are accusing Barry of having an altercation with a manager and for using profanities and making derogatory remarks. This is the same manager that Barry was successful in winning a grievance hearing against, for unfair treatment in the workplace.

Cross Country’s decision to dismiss Barry is totally unfair and completely disproportionate. The company has failed to consider a number of matters, including serious medical conditions that provided explanations to the ludicrous charges when making their decision. There are also a number of questions over the validity of the investigation, with some statements not matching up and a predetermined outcome already prepared.

We must not allow this injustice to carry on and must do everything we can to support our colleague. It is vital that we send management a clear message that we will not allow their overzealous attitude to divide us. It is appalling that Cross Country has treated our member with clear disdain and a total lack of respect. Therefore, we urge you to ‘Yes’ to both questions in the up-coming ballot.

The ballot papers will be despatched to your home address on Tuesday 28th August 2018 by the ERS. If you or a colleague hasn’t receive one by Tuesday 4th September 2018 then please phone the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the Switchboard on 020 7387 4771 and ask for the Industrial Relations Department and a replacement will be sent out.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUE
VOTE ‘YES’ TO BOTH QUESTIONS

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
