Dear Colleagues

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015
FREIGHTLINER HEAVY HAUL

Further to previous correspondence on the above matter, you will be aware that voting papers in the forthcoming ballot for industrial action will be despatched to you next week. Your union is pushing for an overwhelming ‘YES’ vote for both strike action and industrial action short of a strike. During this dispute, it is very probable that management might circulate information which deliberately misleads and misrepresents the RMT’s position. It is therefore vitally important that you and your colleagues are fully aware of the real facts in this dispute.

Consequently, all affected members are invited to attend special meetings, which have been arranged to discuss the current situation. The union’s negotiating team will be in attendance to answer any questions or queries that you might have. I can confirm that the following meetings have been scheduled:-

Wakefield: 11am on Saturday 20th August 2016 at the Golden Lion, The Square, Ferrybridge, Knottingley WF11 8ND
Crewe: 4pm on Sunday 21st August 2016 at the Brunswick Public House (Pullman Lounge), 71 Nantwich Road, Crewe, CW2 6AW

I would like to encourage all members to attend these very important meetings. A further meeting will be arranged in Cardiff and I shall circulate the time/date/location in due course.

Additionally, If you do not receive a ballot paper or are aware of a colleague that does not receive a ballot paper then please contact the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 by midday on Friday 9th September 2016.

I shall, of course, keep you updated with any further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
