Further Strike Action Called – RMT Demands Constructive Talks Now!

Dear Colleague,

Role of the Guard & Extension of DOO – Arriva Rail North

Further to my correspondence dated 9th August 2018 I have received further correspondence from the company in which they again ask us to suspend the current industrial action.

Nothing has changed since my last correspondence, other than members telling us they are fed up with management’s inability or unwillingness to progress talks in a positive way. Management’s intransigence and as I pointed out, contempt for your negotiators has to end. They need to sit down at ACAS and reach agreement.

The National Executive Committee has considered the matter further and having taken note of our members’ wishes, has called further action as follows:-

All members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between the hours of:

• 00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Saturday 15th September 2018
• 00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Saturday 22nd September 2018
• 00.01 hours and 23.59 hours on Saturday 29th September 2018

Please be advised, that the three days of strike action (25th August, 1st September and 8th September 2018) as advised to you previously remains in place.

Most importantly, and management has been advised, the National Executive Committee has reiterated they are prepared to call off industrial action if our negotiating team believes the talks are making meaningful progress and a potential resolution is forthcoming.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT THE STRIKES
SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES

Yours sincerely,

Mick Cash
