Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2018 – Churchill (GTR Contract)
As you are probably aware, pay negotiations have been on-going for some length of time and they have concluded with the Company not making any offer what so ever. Your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has considered the matter and it has instructed me to ballot you and your colleagues.
The Company has been informed that we are in a dispute situation and that notices will be served in line with the current legislation.
I cannot stress how important it is that you use your vote in this ballot. Due to the new draconian anti-trade union laws, thresholds have to be met before the ballot can be validated. In a nutshell, we have to have more than a 50% turnout and more than 40% of the turnout voting ‘YES’ for strike action and action short of a strike. Without meeting these thresholds, the ballot will be declared invalid.
