Dear Colleague

I write with regards to the above matter and to inform you that the RMT has been made aware of Freightliners proposal to ‘trim’ the overtime by 30 minutes per day at every terminal to achieve cost efficiencies. The proposals were discussed in full at a Sub Group meeting with your Senior Union Representatives and I can now advise you that I have received correspondence from the company indicating that the proposal has been withdrawn.

Therefore, the matter has been subject to recent consideration by your union’s National Executive Committee who notes that the company has withdrawn their proposal of 30 minutes per day reduction in overtime across the board.

Furthermore, an agreement has been reached to facilitate Local Working Parties with Local Reps, local management and your Lead Representative to examine any pragmatic ways to make cost cutting efficiencies at terminals.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and may I suggest that should you be approached by your local manager to discuss the roster alterations you make them aware of these arrangements in case they have not yet been informed.

Best wishes.
