Paid on or around the national minimum wage of just £5.52 an hour, they lack proper sick pay or pension schemes afforded to their colleagues and work unsocial hours, such as night shifts and bank holidays, without compensation.
RMT cleaners are currently in dispute with OCS, which holds the Eurostar contract. They are paid just £6.37 an hour, with nothing extra for overtime, nights or bank holiday work, and are demanding the London living wage of £7.45 an hour.
