I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed, and the result is as follows: -

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:        937                  

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                    526      

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                  489      

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                    37        

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:      0          

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:        937                              

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                    526      

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                  505      

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                    21        

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:      0                                  

 

The Union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and congratulated you and your colleagues on delivering an overwhelming mandate, sending a clear message to the company. I am currently seeking an updated report from the Lead Officer, which I will place before the NEC for further consideration. I shall write to you again shortly.
