BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN MANAGERS – AVANTI WEST COAST

 

I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the results are as follows: -

 

Are you prepared to take strike action?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:       381               

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                           278     

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                258     

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                 19       

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     1        

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:       381                         

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                           278     

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                268     

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                 9        

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     1                            

 

I am pleased to inform you that both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the union’s National Executive Committee congratulates our AWC Train Manager grade members on delivering a mandate for strike action and action short of a strike.
