I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows: -

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:773

Number of votes cast in the ballot:543

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:494

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:49

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:0

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:508

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:32

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:3

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The union’s National Executive Committee is currently considering this result and I shall write to you again shortly.
