I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows: -

 

Are you prepared to take strike action?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:3320

Number of votes cast in the ballot:2456

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:2264

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:188

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:4

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:3320

Number of votes cast in the ballot:2456

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:2194

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:247

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:15

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

The union’s National Executive Committee is currently considering this result and I shall write to you again shortly.
