I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows:-
Are you prepared to take strike action?
Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 9667
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 5292
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 5074
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 216
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 2
Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?
Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 9667
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 5292
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 5163
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 119
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 10
Both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the National Executive Committee has congratulated members on delivering a mandate for strike action and action short of a strike.
All members working for London Underground are reminded of the continuous action short of a strike instruction, which is as follows:
- Not to familiarise staff who do not usually work at a location
- No training of staff for roles that are outside of their normal substantive role
- No undertaking of training that is outside of a member’s normal substantive
- role
This action has been uninterrupted since Thursday 25th January 2023 and London Underground management is well aware that it is taking place. The Company was re-notified today as required by law.
You are protected by a legal ballot and should not be pressured or intimidated by management for taking part in this lawful industrial action called by your trade union. Any reports of intimidation or threatening behaviour should be immediately reported to your RMT Reps.
