I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows: -

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:            66
Number of votes cast in the ballot:                        38
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:            35
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:            3
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:        0

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:            33
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:            5
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:        0

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

The National Executive Committee is currently considering this result and I shall write to you again shortly.
