DISPUTE WITH KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (K.A.D.)

I write to advise you that the ballot of my members has now concluded and the result is as follows: -

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Total Votes Cast                486
Number Voting ‘Yes’           466
Number Voting ‘No’            18

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

Total Votes Cast                486
Number Voting ‘Yes’           473
Number Voting ‘No’            10
Spoilt Papers                     3

Your General Grades Committee is currently considering this result and I will write again shortly to advise you of the decision and next steps. In the meantime, I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your colleagues for returning such a strong vote in favour of taking industrial action to fight against detrimental changes to your terms and conditions.

Also to reassure members that following this ballot result you are legally entitled to take any industrial action called by your Union and protected from disciplinary action for doing so. Although members taking part in industrial action will not be paid by the Company during the period of this action, you cannot suffer any detriment now or in the future because of it or any other trade union duties. There is also no need to tell management whether or not you are a member of RMT and/or whether or not you will be taking industrial action as this information is already covered in the legal notice from RMT Head Office to K.A.D. If you are still unsure of your position or have any questions about taking industrial action, please do not hesitate to contact the Freephone RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706.

I will of course keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
