INTRODUCTION OF NEW TECHNOLOGY, FLEET GRADES – SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

 

I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed, and the result is as follows: -

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:        166                              

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                    54

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                  53        

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                    1          

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:      0                                  

 

The Union’s National Executive Committee has recently considered the matter and noted that despite members voting for industrial action it has failed to meet the thresholds imposed by the anti-trade union legislation. Therefore, I am currently seeking an updated report from the Lead Officer and will place further development before the NEC for further consideration.
