Dear Colleagues

Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2019 – Clarke Chapman

Further to my previous correspondence on the above matter, the referendum has now concluded and the result is as follows:-

Question: Are you prepared to accept the company’s offer?

Total Votes Cast: 35
Number Voting ‘Yes’: 32
Number Voting ‘No’: 3
Spoilt Papers: 0

The details of the agreement are as follows:-

• A 3% increase on annual gross pay or £1100 whichever is the greater backdated to 1st April 2019.
• Death in service benefit of 2x annual gross basic salary will remain in place (which was effective from 15th April 2019).
• Premium rate of 1.4, which is paid on Friday nightshift/Saturday and Sunday day and nightshift, will increase to 1.5 with effect from the date of the signed agreement to the revised offer.
• A phased increase to annual holiday entitlement of 5 days from 20 annual days plus 8 public holidays to 25 days plus 8 public holidays [2 days with effect from the date of the signed agreement to the revised offer and 3 days effective from 1st January 2020].

Noting the result, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.

As the Pay offer has been accepted the industrial action not to carry out overtime or rest day working undertaken as part of the dispute has now ended.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
