Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2022 – Freightliner Heavy Haul 

 

Further to previous correspondence, the e-referendum has now concluded and the result is as follows:

Noting the result, the National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity. For ease of reference the accepted offer is as follows:

 

  • An increase in basic rates and applicable allowances (excluding Driver Operator allowance covered as per other items below) of 7.76% backdated to 1st October 2022

 

In addition, the following items also apply:

 

  • Driver Operator allowance to increase from £20.14 per shift to £35.00 per shift backdated to 1st October 2022.
  • A minimum period of 56 hours must exist between booking off duty and booking on for their next turn when two rest days are rostered, applicable to all safety critical roles.
  • Applicable to Static Groundstaff, where rosters are negotiated and solely comprise of 12-hour shift lengths, with the exception of one balancing shift to average out the working week of 37 hours, the annual leave entitlement will be 23 days per annum effective from 1st January 2024. For the annual leave year 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 the Company will honour 24 days annual leave where 12-hour shift lengths apply.
  • Section 4 of the Arrangements for dealing with Medically Restricted Staff applicable to Freightliner Heavy Haul Limited Ground Staff, Clerical, Supervisory and Control CBA will be increased as follows: 

 

  • 100% of current salary for the first 12 months in the alternative role.
  • 75% of the difference between the original salary and the alternative role salary for the next 8 months in the alternative role. 
  • 50% of the difference between the original salary and the alternative role salary for the next 4 months. 
  • Rate for alternative role to apply after 24 months 

 

  • Freightliner commits to formally write to the RDG to request a review of the current staff travel arrangements with a view to future enhancements to cover non safeguarded employees.

 

The increases to basic pay as proposed in this agreement are fully pensionable but will be subject to the Pensionable Pay Cap arrangements currently in place.
