Dear Colleague,
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2022 – SCOTRAIL TRAINS LTD
Referring to our previous correspondence, the referendum has concluded, and the result is as follows:-
Question: Are you prepared to accept the Company’s Offer?
Votes Cast: 1788
Number Voting ‘Yes’: 1210
Number Voting ‘No’: 578
Acting on this result, your union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. For ease of reference, the accepted offer is:-
- A £750 payment consolidated into pay for all general grade staff in recognition for accepting use of technology. See Appendix A for impact to general grade staff by following this link: http://bit.ly/3Utazf5
- A 5 per cent increase in basic pay. This is broken down as a 2.2 per cent increase to recognise the cost-of-living challenges (funded by Transport Scotland and paid to all general grades since April 2022), and a further 2.8 per cent increase (to be funded by ScotRail), which recognises and rewards the flexibility of rostering arrangements as ScotRail responds to changes in our markets as we emerge from the pandemic.
- £390 excess revenue share (paid as quickly as possible) less tax and NI contributions and pro rata.
- An increase in the no compulsory redundancies guarantee from five to six years.
- 3 per cent commission for all gate and manual barrier staff with a joint working group created to agree how to administer 2p (per ticket checked) for all on-train and gate / manual barrier staff for checking barcode / M-Tickets.
- Twenty-two bronze stations moved to silver classification with a further review in March 2023.
- Rest Day Working – the current agreement extended to 31 October 2023.
The other key elements of the pay offer made remain and are listed below:
- An excess revenue share premium, which rewards all colleagues where ScotRail exceeds revenue budget targets of £195.00 per period (less tax and NI contributions).
- An improvement in maternity and adoption leave payments comprising of 13 weeks average pay, then 13 weeks at 50 per cent standard pay, then 13 weeks at statutory maternity pay.
- Sunday working allowance (SWA) increased by 10 per cent.
- An increase in minimum flat rate pay to £10.50 per hour.
The company has been informed of your acceptance of the offer and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
