RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – STADLER RAIL (MERSEYRAIL CONTRACT)

 

I write to advise you that the ballots have now closed, and the results are as follows: 

 

Are you prepared to take strike action?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:                    109      

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                                86        

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                              82

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                                4

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:                  0          

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:                    109

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                                86

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                              84

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                                2

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:                  0

              

These results exceed the statutory thresholds.

 

This matter has been considered by your National Executive Committee, which has congratulated members on delivering an outstanding mandate for strike action and action short of a strike. Noting the views of your representatives your NEC is therefore calling on members to take the following strike action.

 

Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

 

• 0001 hours on Friday 22^nd December 2023 until 2359 hours on Tuesday 26^th December 2023

 

Members are urged to stand firm together and support the action, to demonstrate your commitment to securing a fair pay offer in the face of an intransigent employer.
