Dear RMT Member,

 

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – HITACHI RAIL (OUTSTATIONS & MAINTENANCE CONTROL)

 

Further to my previous correspondence, the referendum on the company’s pay offer has concluded and the result is as follows:

 

Do you accept the company’s offer?

 

Total votes cast                      61

Number voting YES                 55

Number voting NO                  6

 

Your union’s National Executive Committee has considered this result and noted that you and your colleagues have voted to accept the company’s revised offer.

 

For your ease of reference, pay award is as follows:

 

  • Year 1: a 6% increase on basic pay, plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g., shift allowance) plus a £1,250 lump sum payment, effective from 1st April 2023 covering the financial year 2023/2024

 

  • Year 2: a 5.2% increase on basic pay, plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g., shift allowance, effective from 1st April 2024 covering the financial year 2024/2025

 

  • Confirmation that the reduction of Annual Leave from 265 to 251 hours agreed in the 2022/23 pay negotiations will be frozen until the financial year 2025/26. E.g. Annual Leave will remain at 265 hours.

 

Noting the result, the union's National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance. This therefore resolves pay negotiations for 2023 and I have written to the company to request that they implement the new pay rates as soon as possible, including back pay.
