** It is proposed to adjust the service bands on Contract B to become 0-6 months, 6-18 months, and 18 months plus from the May review date. Drivers would move into the new grades based on service. This change will allow drivers to achieve the highest pay rate sooner.

In addition, from 7th May all duties worked on weekends or Bank Holidays will be paid £1 an hour premium. For example, a contract A driver would be paid £14.34 for a Saturday duty.

From 5th June 2023, when the schools return for the final half term, the following changes would be introduced to scheduling conditions:

  • Maximum unpaid break on 4-day duties reduced by ten minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.
  • Maximum spell behind the wheel reduced to 5 hours 10 minutes, with an endeavour

to work to 5 hours wherever practically possible. For the avoidance of doubt this is the spell of actual driving, less layover breaks of ten minutes or less. Other paid time such as booking on, booking off, first use checks and walk time would be excluded from this measure.

  • If the group child pass scheme has not been formally announced, employees will be

entitled to a child pass from the point any offer is accepted.

Thank you for taking part in the voting process and I would expect the company to implement the new pay rates as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
