Dear Colleagues
Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Avanti West Coast (RPOs/RPOTLs, London Euston)
Referring to previous correspondence, I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows:
Question: Are you prepared to take strike action?
Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 57
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 36
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 35
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 1
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 0
Question: Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?
Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot: 57
Number of votes cast in the ballot: 36
Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question: 36
Number of individuals answering “No” to the question: 0
Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned: 0
Both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the National Executive Committee has congratulated members on delivering a ballot mandate for strike action and action short of a strike.
During the ballot for industrial action, the company table a pay offer 4.5%. However, this offer continued to ignore longstanding and unresolved issues that were contained within our pay claim. The union will therefore be facilitating a mass meeting of our RPO and RPOTL members at Euston in the coming days, details of which will be circulated in due course.
I will keep you advised of all further developments.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
