Rest Day Working Agreement, Train Managers – Avanti West Coast  

 

Referring to previous correspondence, I write to advise you that the ballot has now closed and the result is as follows:

 

Question: Are you prepared to take strike action?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:      388                        

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                         294              

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:               269                        

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                24                

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     1                                               

 

Question: Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

 

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:      388                        

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                         294              

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:               290              

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                3                  

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     1        

                                                 

Both of the above results meet the thresholds imposed due the anti-trade union laws and the National Executive Committee has congratulated members on delivering a ballot mandate for strike action and action short of a strike.
