ACCIDENTS AT THE PLATFORM TRAIN INTERFACE
On giving consideration to correspondence from Sussex Coast Branch and the Regional Organiser detailing differences between Southern’s dispatch procedure and the rule book the General Grades Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:
We note the reports on file from our Lead Officer and Company Council. We instruct the General Secretary to write to the ORR expressing our concerns over vestibule dispatch and that this proposal is more to do with commercial considerations rather than on the grounds of safety. We further note the lack of consultation with this union on the risk assessment and instruct the General Secretary to outline our concerns over the lack of consultation with the ORR.
Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments with this case.
