CAMPAIGN AGENDA FOR MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE

In recent years there have been a number of resolutions on the theme of mental health adopted at the Annual General Meeting and the National Health and Safety Advisory Conference. In order to ensure RMT focused their activity under one campaign a review of these various files was conducted including an analysis of all the demands of the separate resolutions.

This report was considered by the National Executive Committee (NEC). As a result of this report the NEC instructed me to produce a Campaign Agenda for Mental Health in the Workplace. A draft document was produced which was considered by the NEC and was also shared with the Chairs and Secretaries of the Disabled Members Advisory Committee and the National Health and Safety Advisory Committee.

Following comments received by the Chairs and Secretaries the document was again considered by the NEC on 22nd October 2019, who noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the comments on file from the Advisory Committees’ Chairs and Secretaries. We instruct the General Secretary to review the document in light of these comments and make appropriate adjustments before publication of this important RMT document. General Secretary is further instructed to arrange an appropriate distribution and publicity campaign.

Branches and Regional Councils to be informed.
