CORONAVIRUS – COVID-19: LETTER TO EMPLOYERS
In response to a report submitted to the Health and Safety Sub Committee, at its meeting on 5th March the NEC noted and adopted the following report from the Sub Committee:
We note the correspondence on file and instruct the General Secretary to write to all employers where we have representation urging them to adopt the most stringent measures in line with best practice advice with regard to health and safety. In particular, employers with sub-contracted staff and suppliers are to be reminded of their responsibility to these staff.
Further the General Secretary is instructed to write separately to all employers with regards to industrial relations issues. We expect our members to suffer no loss of earnings and no measures under sickness monitoring procedures.
Branches and Regional Councils be informed.
I have acted in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments. Please make the contents of this Circular available to all appropriate members.
