COVID-19 PANDEMIC – ON TRAIN TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

Following a report from the RMT Regional Organiser, your National Executive Committee (NEC) has found that the RICF In Cab Driver Training document is agreeable and reflects what was agreed at the working group and RICF.

At its meeting on 16th July 2020, your NEC noted and adopted the report:

We note the updated report agreed at the Joint Working Party & the RICF where the fundamental guidelines were agreed. We also note that discussions are ongoing with LUL in regard to on train training in the specific conditions of London Underground

Key Points for the National Roll Out are as follows:

1. Participation is voluntary (2 in the cab trainee & driver instructor, the monitored training bubble).
2. National rollout is practical driver training, but excludes route learning.
3. Covid-19 testing pre bubble and weekly thereafter
4. Temperature Testing
5. Mitigation Measures.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to cascade the information out to ALL Train Driver Health & Safety Reps, Industrial Reps in TOCs & FOCs by all means available at this Unions disposal.
