Dear Colleague,

COVID-19 – TRAIN DRIVER TRAINING – PILOT SCHEME

The RMT has participated in RSSB workshops, following the previous decision of the RICF surrounding the proposals to restart Train Driver Training.

It is now proposed the pilot scheme goes before the RICF for agreement.

At its meeting on 17th June 2020, your NEC noted and adopted the following report from its Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the report on file from the Regional Officer. We instruct the General Secretary to write to RSSB to inform them that we agree to participation in the trial. Further reports on the outcomes of the trial to be placed in front of this National Executive Committee.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.

I have written to the RSSB accordingly, signalling the RMT’s agreement to participation in this trial.

Please make the contents of this Circular available to all appropriate members.
