DIESEL EXPOSURE QUESTIONNAIRE
Please find enclosed/attached RMT’s Diesel Exposure Questionnaire which has been designed for us by a Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) specialist. The objective of this short questionnaire is to gauge the depth of the problem to enable the union to present a case to the appropriate authorities. We also have a more in-depth questionnaire which can be used by anyone who considers that their exposure poses a genuine risk to their health. This second questionnaire can be obtained from the Health and Safety section on firstname.lastname@example.org
Please complete the questionnaire if members feel that they have been exposed to diesel fumes in the line of your work. This can occur when using diesel fuelled machinery, on buses stuck in traffic and on Ro-Ro ferries amongst other activities.
Please ensure that copies of the questionnaire are made available to affected members and encourage your members to complete it. The results will be collated and used to strengthen our argument for a Diesel Exposure Register and an Occupational Exposure Level for diesel.
The union has a meeting scheduled for the 18th February with the director of the Long Latency Risks Division of the HSE on our Diesel Exposure Campaign. With this in mind, the union would like some evidence to present so I would ask that members complete and return the questionnaire as soon as possible. Please return completed questionnaires to email@example.com or Stephanie Mackay, RMT Health & Safety Section, 39 Chalton St, London NW1 1JD.
I look forward to hearing from you in this matter.
