Effluent and Health Risks for Workers

Following further meetings between the Regional Organiser Scotland, Employers and Transport Scotland on this subject, I am writing to update you on progress with this important matter. The General Grades Committee have noted and adopted the following report.

“We note the reports on file from the Regional Organiser Scotland and the concessions that have been forced from the employers and Transport Scotland. These concessions have only been achieved due to the efforts of our representatives. However we still note that this only applies to Scotland and we therefore instruct the General Secretary to intensify our campaign in other areas of the country. This campaign should be aimed at the employers, the ORR and the Department for Transport. Branches and Regional Councils be advised”

I am acting in accordance with those instructions and will keep you informed of any further developments with this issue.
