ELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE
NATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
JANUARY 2022 – DECEMBER 2024 – NOMINATIONS RECEIVED
Further to Head Office Circular NP/398/21, dated 22nd October 2021, I can report as follows:
As more than one nomination has been received, elections will take place in the following constituencies:
Region 1 - Scotland
Region 6 - Midlands
Region 7 - South Wales and West of England
Region 11 - London Transport
Region 12 - Wessex
Further circulars with ballot papers will be issued to Branch Secretaries in these constituencies shortly. Voting will be by Branch block vote via the Single Transferable Vote system.
One nomination apiece has been received in the Region 3 - North West and North Wales and Region 10 - London and Anglia constituencies, therefore no elections are required.

Vacancies remain in the following constituencies:
Region 2 - Manchester and North West England
Region 4 - North East
Region 5 - Yorkshire and Lincolnshire
Region 8 - South West
Region 9 - South East
Region M1- Maritime South
Region M2 - Maritime Central
Region M3 - Maritime North
Region M4 - Maritime Offshore
A reminder that the period of office for the above posts is three years from 1st January 2022.
The National Health and Safety Advisory Committee meets a minimum of four times per year to advise the National Executive Committee on matters relevant to the Committee. The Committee consists of one Health and Safety Representative from each National Executive electoral region, including Maritime Grades. Once the new Committee has been established, a Liaison Committee will be elected at the next National Health and Safety Conference 2022, comprising three members of the Advisory Committee. Arrangements will also be made for one member of the Liaison Committee to chair the Conference.
Call for Further Nominations
Branches are invited to submit nominations for one representative from each of the vacant constituencies Committee to serve on the Committee. Please note that the representation is based on the electoral regions and is not company or grade based. At the closing date for nominations, candidates must be:
A Health and Safety Representative
Employed as defined in Rule 2, Clause 1 (a), (b) or (c)
Up to date with contributions
A nomination form is enclosed, together with a list of Branches in the various electoral regions. Completed nominations must be returned to Head Office by the closing date for nominations, which is Monday 20th December 2021. When the nomination form is received, a letter of acknowledgement will be sent to the Branch.
