EXPOSURE TO DANGEROUS CHEMICALS, BATTERSEA STEWARTS LANE TRAINCARE DEPOT – GTR SOUTHERN

I have received the following report from my Lead Officer:

Please note that our Industrial and Health & Safety Representatives, and other members, employed in Stewarts Lane, Selhurst and Lovers’ Walk depots, may be issued with witness orders in relation to the…matter [of DISMISSAL, W. ALLARD, SERVICE ENGINEER, STEWARTS LANE].

Therefore, I respectfully request that you provide members with a suitable legal contact that they be instructed to contact should they be issued with a witness order.

Further, I respectfully request that a new file be created under a new title; ‘EXPOSURE TO DANGEROUS CHEMICALS, BATTERSEA STEWARTS LANE TRAINCARE DEPOT – GTR SOUTHERN’ regarding the matter of the misuse of dangerous chemicals contained within this file.

Finally, I respectfully request that the aforementioned new file be referred to our H&S subcommittee to consider the following matter – that our representatives report that the company has not registered individuals’ details who were exposed to dangerous chemicals in the above matter on the exposure to dangerous chemicals register.

At its meeting on 19th August, 2021, your National Executive Committee resolved as follows:
That we note the report on file.
Accordingly, we instruct the General Secretary to take this up in line with the officer’s report
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep members advised of any developments.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.
