EXTREME TEMPERATURES: GETTING READY FOR THE HEATWAVES - MEDIA TRAINING FOR REPS

 

In 2022 the UK passed 40°C for the first time in recorded history, and similar is expected this year. When it gets unbearably hot, TV and radio want to speak to workers about their experiences. This year, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) is looking for union reps to dominate the airwaves - going on local and national TV and radio to call for urgent action to make jobs safe, buildings cooler and to deliver climate action.

 

Working with the New Economy Organisers Network (NEON), the TUC is offering media training and resources for reps, and help lining up interview opportunities (working in co-ordination with union press offices).  If you are interested in the heatwave media wave, then please sign up here and get in touch with Anna Markova/Mika Minio on amarkovamminio@tuc.org.uk
