FIRST AID TRAINING

 

Your National Industrial Organising Conference of Station & Associated Grades 2022 carried the following resolution:

 

This Conference notes that Station Staff are first responders in any incident that happens on the railway. It’s vital that part of this means staff being first aid trained.

 

This Conference notes that many companies are either cutting back on training or have got rid of it completely.

 

The Conference calls on the national union to conduct a national company by company audit of first aid training and where needed, to ensure that all companies are providing it.

 

At its meeting on 23^rd August 2022, your National Executive Committee resolved as follows:

 

We note the resolution from our NIOC of Station and Associated Grades. In line with the resolution he General Secretary is instructed to write to our Lead Officers, to raise within the machinery the issue of first aid training at OCs and to update this NEC.

Branches and Regional Councils to be advised.

I am acting in line with these instructions. Please bring the contents of this circular and the attached document to the attention of relevant members.
