HSE REVIEW OF DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES IN HARBOUR AREA REGULATIONS 1987

The HSE are conducting a review into the above named Regulations and have requested that the RMT are involved in the review. On giving consideration into this matter the General Grades Committee have noted and adopted the following report from their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note that the HSE are reviewing these Regulations which provide our members who work in these areas with protection against dangerous substance. We instruct the General Secretary to engage in consultation in this matter. Our representatives on the review to be the Health and Safety Officer and an appropriate representative.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised

I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you informed of developments with this case.
