Dear Colleague

Improving RMT Policy and Activity on Mental Health

The concerns and associated mental health issues at our workplaces and amongst our membership is one that RMT takes very seriously in all of its forms. Following the receipt of a comprehensive resolution from the London Regional Council, the National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

This National Executive Committee recognises the contribution and campaigning work done by Bro. Leon Brumant and formally notes his tragic death. This National Executive Committee further notes their thanks to the London Transport Regional Council for placing this resolution in front of us.

RMT members face a daily struggle to cope with the many demands of work and this resolution sets out a well thought out and distinctly achievable route to improve working conditions for our members that can only have a beneficial effect on RMT members’ mental health and well-being.

We instruct the General Secretary to take up the demands of the London Transport Regional Council in line with the resolution. Branches and Regional Councils be advised

I am in the process of carrying out that those instructions

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all relevant members.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
