LINE BLOCKAGES
Further to Head Office Circular NP/031/16, 22nd January 2016, RMT have been advised of a report from the ORR into Line Blockage irregularities on the LNW Route. The report has been discussed with RMT representatives and highlights concerns over the lack of additional protection to protect staff working in Line Blockages. On considering the ORR report the National Executive Committee have noted and adopted the following report of their Health and Safety Sub-committee:

We note the report on file and instruct the General Secretary to produce a summary of the report for our members on the Line Blockage Working Group and for them to raise with Network Rail how the company intend to progress the ORR’s concerns. General Secretary is further instructed to arrange to meet with ORR to discuss a national response to these issues.

Branches and Regional Councils be advised.
