Head Office Circular NP/214/20
1st September 2020
The Secretary
ALL BRANCHES
ALL REGIONAL COUNCILS
Dear Colleague
LIVE LINE TESTERS
Further to Head Office Circular NP/196/20, 12th August 2020, we have been informed that Network Rail cannot comply with the deadline of supplying new equipment in this matter. Although the company have secured enough new testers for Network Rail staff there will not be sufficient stocks for the supply chain. On considering this matter again the National Executive Committee carried the following resolution:
We note that the Health & Safety subcommittee recently met with the NR LLIWG members to seek their views on the company’s written response on file. We further note that a clear consensus to immediately withdraw our participation at the LLIWG and to seek a meeting with the Company Chief HSQE Officer at the earliest opportunity to stress the concerns and seek to bring subcontracted work in house.
Therefore, we instruct the General Secretary to inform all parties of our withdrawal from the LLIWG and to seek a meeting with the company to discuss the issues above.
Members to be advised by text and email. Branches & Regional Councils to be informed
I am acting in accordance with these instructions and will keep you advised of further developments. Please bring the contents of this Circular to the attention of relevant members.
Yours sincerely
Mick Cash
General Secretary
