Dear Colleague,

LNER AZUMA FLEET – SERIOUS AND IMMINENT DANGER

It has been brought to our attention that there are serious concerns being raised by RMT members and representatives over the state of their working environment in relation to LNER’s new Azuma fleet. Concerns are widespread and are subject to consideration by your National Executive Committee. However, recent reports of potentially dangerous working conditions specifically in relation to luggage storage need to be urgently highlighted to protect RMT members health and safety.

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSW), Regulation 8(1) employers have a duty to establish procedures to be followed in the event of serious and imminent danger to persons at work such procedures are sometimes known as Worksafe Procedures.

A guide to your rights in this regard are contained in the following RMT publication:

Serious and Imminent Danger Booklet
