Further to Head Office Circular NP/257/24, dated 24th October 2024, I can report that the ballots have now closed, and the results are as follows:

 

Central Line

Are you prepared to take strike action?

Number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:       241

Number of votes cast in the ballot:                                                   112

Number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question:                  103

Number of individuals answering “No” to the question:                  9          

Number of spoiled or otherwise invalid voting papers returned:     0

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is not at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot. The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is at least 40% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

Are you prepared to take industrial action short of a strike?

            At its meeting on 19th November 2024, your NEC noted the ballot results for strike action and for action short of strike resolved as follows:

 

            Central Line

We note this result does not meet the draconian thresholds imposed due to the anti-union laws.

 

We instruct the General Secretary to obtain an updated report.

 

All affected members and branches to be advised via email and text.

 

            Jubilee Line

            We note this result meets the draconian thresholds imposed due to the anti-union laws.

 

            We congratulate our members on delivering this mandate for strike action and action short of strike.

 

            We instruct the General Secretary to obtain an updated report from the Lead Officer.

 

            All affected members and branches to be advised via email and text.

 

            Northern Line

            We note this result does not meet the draconian thresholds imposed due to the anti-union laws.

 

            We instruct the General Secretary to obtain an updated report.

 

            All affected members and branches to be advised via email and text.
